this will happen if you have it in layers, try the straighning hairspray from matrix, it works great.

when you straighten it, curl the iron towards you once you've reached the ends, but not too much because than you'll have a weird looking curl..also if you put hairspray/gel before you straighten it it'll stay better. just not too much cause than it clumps weird..

Just cut it real short and you will not have to worry about it.
