I had really long hair and i recently cut 12 inches (for locks of love) and now my hair barely sits on my shoulder and i have some layers in the back and quite a bit in the front and i have side swept bangs (i had with my long hair too) but im not a very good hair comber person im use to just putting my hair back in a messy bun everyday even with my long hair, and i had wavy hair but now that i cut my hair i only have waves like at the bottom of my hair not the top, so if you have short hair or know of cute styles that are kind of easy that i can do with my hair would be great thanks

However, I can give you some stellar advice that has carried me through life quite well since I first read it in a teen magazine many years ago. Do not make any major changes to your body or lifestyle in reaction to any emotional event that recently happened to you. For instance, if you just broke up, feel you failed in a relationship, or suffered a personal loss, etc... don't do something you normally would not do like get a tattoo, a new piercing, cut your hair, dye your hair or even perm your hair because you suddenly feel you need a change. Trust me on this one! If you make a big change in your appearance to forget something bad that happened, in the end that change is actually going to remind you of the bad thing every time you see yourself, and make you feel worse. So, is it really time for a change, or are you reacting to something you need to deal with? I don't mean to be preachy, but if I had gotten this advice before I cut my hair for a guy in High School, I would have been a lot better off sooner than later! This would be a serious mistake. Jet black is too harsh for your complexion. As for the fauxhawk, I just can't figure that out. It looks to me like baby hair -- you know, when babies don't have enough hair so they get theirs combed into a curl on top. Grown men in baby hair looks immature to me. Aside from that -- the 'hawk would be right in the middle of your head, follow that line down your face -- right to your nose. It's like saying "Hey, here's my nose!" Now if you like your nose really well, I suppose that would be okay.

However, you're the one that's going to have to live with it.. so if you think that you could tolerate that hair style until it grows out then you know what to do! Honestly, it's whatever you want if you feel you'd look good with shorter hair so be it. But if you want my opinion, I think it looks great the way it is, with your particular bone structure, but if you do decide to cut it off i wouldn't go too short.

have really long hair and it really gets me down cos its naturally frizzy so I have to spend hours straightening it so, I'm going to get it cut tomorrow to my shoulders and it will be much more easy to handle and straighten and it will also by out of my way for summer.

um, I dont know about the prenatals, some doctors disaprove of this unless you are pregnant, because it all depends on the person, what kinds of side effects you might have. also my friend tried this, and now she has hair in some unwanted places :( so sad. but yeah dont just up and take some pills or vitamins without at least consulting with a professional. in the meantime get extensions or something.

While prenatals make your hair grow fast, there is also a lot of shedding if you decide to stop using it. Someone else up here metioned horsetail pill, and I have to agree, it makes your hair thick too. You can also try Biotin but make sure to drink a alot of water or you may experience some break-out. Check out this web site below. She used the horsetail pills and had to stop after several months because her hair grew soo fast and thick!!! I just started taking it and hope to get the same results. :)

If you have been hanging on to long hair most your life, go for short, if you have not been really long for a while, go for long. Also, shorter people tend to look better with shorter hair, and the opposite tends to be true for tall people. Both highlights are nice but know that red will be temporary because it will fade fast, probably to a kind of dishwatery shade which you won't want to keep. But then they can easily be changed over to blonde. So I say do that if you have the money! Otherwise go for blonde, because it can last so long if you take proper care.

As a child id always had long hair apart from an odd occasion where i had it cut short and it looks awful. my hair was also brown

However when i reached 20, i thought it was a time for a change!

I now have a short inverted bob. and it looks great, everyone comments on it. I like perhaps the age and matority of your face makes a difference with short styles.

Go buy a couple of hairstyle magazines and really look for what you want. Make note of the specifics - I like these bangs, or I like the way the back of this cut is funky - then take the pictures to your hairstylist and discuss what you're after. A good stylist will let you know HONESTLY whether or not your hair will actually DO what is in the picture, and she may tell you that she can do a similar cut but frame your face in such a way that it'll look softer, etc.

braid your hair before you sleep. i have very fine hair and was told by almost everybody it would never grow long, it was just like yours. then an older woman told me to braid it before i go to sleep. only use hair ties, never a rubber band. fat ones are best. i have had hair down past my waist for years now. i cut it from below my bottom last time to just below shoulders several years ago and it has already grown to my waist again. THIS WORKS. i also use aussie-mega 3-minute miracle as a regular conditioner but mostly on the ends so it stays strong but won't weigh it down. whatever anyone else tells you may be good advice, and try their ideas but this WILL make your hair be longer and more manageable.i hate to give my age but, i'm 44, and i know all about life with hair like this. I think your(our) best bet is to keep it long. Trust me i know what it is like. I turn my head upsidedown and quickly flip my head back up but it only stays big for not long enough. Some day i dream of my hair being thicker and looking prettier without having to do anything to it but i know i am born with my own hair and there is only so much i can do to it! Blowdry your hair UPSIDE DOWN and with a round thermal styling brush!

If you want to add some curl, spray some root lifter or light spray gel near the roots, and pull your hair in the opposite direction (so if you want the hair to fall to the back of your head, pull forward so you can get the most volume.

Use ONLY aerosol hairspray, its made for fine hair. Spray kinds are heavier and therefore will weigh your hair down.

You don't have to have short hair just because it is fine!

You could also get a body perm to give it some volume as well, that way you have the option of blowdrying it straight, or wearing it curly to give it some body!

I'd say don't dye it too much, you don't want breakage or dryness!

Honestly, it's whatever you want if you feel you'd look good with shorter hair so be it. But if you want my opinion, I think it looks great the way it is, with your particular bone structure, but if you do decide to cut it off i wouldn't go too short.

when you straighten it, curl the iron towards you once you've reached the ends, but not too much because than you'll have a weird looking curl..also if you put hairspray/gel before you straighten it it'll stay better. just not too much cause than it clumps weird..

I chopped my long locks off yesterday and I love it. Get it trimmed and tell them you want a transition cut while you grow your hair. You will be adviced to avoid hard edges and heavy fringes instead the hair dresser will layer your current style so it doesn't look silly while you grow it out.
