Want to cut my hair shorter?

I have really poofy sort of hair. It used to be thin, but now it is thick. It is also wavy with curls underneath. I would like to cut it like an inch shorter than shoulderlength, but would that make it really poofy and ugly? (it's still poofy with straightning). Should I also get it thinned? Does anyone have a link to a photo of a cut shoulder length that is sort of choppy for teenagers? Thank you in advance.

hi, i have hair puffy as yours too. it doest make a difference with your hair cut. it will look good. try to yous shampoo for puffy hair and see if that will help.

Thick hair usually looks better longer. If you get it short, buy a really nice straightener, and get your hair thinned.

What you need is what I call the C section layer; a technique used by myself for years to slightly layer with out over cutting. All hair is brought forward and a curved cut from chin to extend out in front to right shoulder and opposite from left side curving to the right shoulder. a very sharp shear is needed and a tight curve while cutting pivot hands toward opposite shoulder and slid cut. keep hands low and draw toward body as cut is down a beautiful long layer is formed with out poof and to short of layers do give poof to much.Bangs are an option an can be "slide cut" longer lengths, not straight across to lengthen a round face.
