Would hair extensions be alright for homecoming, when everyone knows I have short hair?

Ok, I recently got my hair cut like Rihanna's (the hiphop singer). I want to be able to have things to do with my hair so it looks decent for homecoming, I just dont want to be called a fake or have people dis on me. I guess that all im trying to ask is should I go along with them, they would be a little bit past my sholders. blonde and curly %26amp; only for a day.
